The Spirit of the Holy Ghost has been with our family and has helped us to feel peace and comfort at this time. Anne will be missed so much, but we love her and know that her mission on this earth has been completed and we know that she has returned home to our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. We have been greatly touched by the outpouring of love you have all given in the last few days through comments on her blog. Anne touched so many lives because she was a true friend. Please know that our prayers are with you, those beautiful girls, the Petersen family and the Creager family. We are so thankful for forever families and know that we will see Anne again in a perfect state without the pains of mortal life. I was in the temple Saturday morning and thought of Anne, Ward, and the girls the whole time I was there. We did a session and sealings, and during the sealings I felt so strongly the blessings of being sealed forever as a family. We are so sorry you have to be without your wife, mother, daughter and sister for a time on this earth, but know you will be able to enjoy the eternities with her. Anne is such a sweet angel and will be with you always. We love you all and have you in our prayers.

I pray that you and your girls will forever treasure the writings that Anne has left behind for you. Although she left this world far too soon, I am glad she was able to prepare and leave behind the things that she thought would mean the most. May your family be comforted during this sad time.

All my love,

Dear Ward,
Words cannot express the sorrow we feel in Anne's passing...not for her for she is whole and well again, but for you and your beautiful girls and all of those who loved her so. We are blessed to have known her. Truly she was an angel on earth and when I have seen the two of you together, I know your love was something very special and will last for eternity. We love you and pray you will be strengthened by your faith and the spirit of the Lord.

I am heartbroken. I hope these words from President Hinckley can give you comfort, as they have given me countless times.

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we put our trust in him, if we will pray to him, if we will live worthy of his blessings, he will hear our prayers."

President Gordon B. Hinckley
(at the funeral of his wife, Marjorie)

I hardly knew Anne, and yet I loved her.

Sending you love from our family,

Dear Ward & Family,

I was so shocked a few days ago to learn about Anne's condition. I had no idea that you guys have been going through all of this! We only knew you for a short time in the 6th ward when you lived in the townhouses. I think I took over for your wife as the primary secretary when you moved. I am so sorry that we lost touch, but so glad that I was able to read Anne's blog these past few days! What a spiritual giant! She is amazing. I haven't seen Anne for a few years, but as I read each blog entry I could feel her sweet spirit. She has touched many lives. I am so grateful to be one of the people that knows her. We love your family and wish the best for you in the road ahead! Please know that we are thinking of you!

Those of us who were able to spend a lot of time with Anne as we grew up were so blessed to have her as part of our lives. Anne was the closest thing to an angel on earth that I have ever known.

I'm having a hard time getting through this post and it reminds me of when I first learned she had cancer. I immediately called her; I probably should have pulled myself together before calling. I was so shaken up I could barely talk through the sobs. I'm a little embarrassed to say that Anne was the one trying to make me feel better and make me feel like everything would be okay. That's just who she was, strong, happy, and an angel on earth.

Anne, I miss you already, John

Dear Ward and family,

I wish I could find the right words to convey our love and sorrow for you and your family right now, but I don't know if such potent words even exist. I know that nothing I could possibly say or write could take away the pain you must be feeling. Please know that we love your family and are thinking so much about you. The tears can't help but stream down my face just writing this. Thank you for sharing your lives through the blog. We feel so blessed to have been able to follow you on this journey even if only from a distance. We have always been impressed by your family and have wished we had more years of dental school together before parting. Please take care during this difficult time, and give those precious girls a squeeze from us.

Love,

Dear Ward and girls,

We just want you to know how very sorry we are for your loss. Our hearts are full - because of the love that Anne gave to all who came into her life and the thought that it will be "physically" absent for a while from the ones she loved the most. We are so grateful that your family chose to live in South Ogden for a brief while, so that we could get to know you and Anne and feel of your testimonies and your spirits. We will continue to pray for you and the girls- that your hearts will be comforted and that you will be able to feel the love and support from your family, friends and a Loving Heavenly Father. We just are so grateful for a life well lived and the example Anne was to our family. We love her always and extend that love to you and your girls during this difficult time.

Ward... today I saw you pick up your beautiful girls from school with a huge smile on your face - it brought tears to my eyes, but also a sweetness of the spirit confirming that life goes on and your sweet family is a forever one. We are so sorry for your loss. We have been touched by knowing your family even in the few short months that we have. You are special people and we know the Lord is mindful of you. Please know that we are here for you in any way we are needed. My girls would love to play! And when you are ready, I would love to help you make a book or books for the girls or even of the blogs and words that Anne left.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I Am Love~
I am one who passed before my time,
Look closely yet; you will see my signs.

I am love that watches over you,
I am heaven’s comfort pure and true.

I am the smile; the eyes that shine,
My love is not lost, nor is confined.

Feel with your heart in those quiet nights,
My arms around you with love’s pure light.

And even though you can not see;
Know that I am with you...and will always be.
~Misty Kilburn Wiese~

I am so blessed to have known Anne in school, we played in jazz band together. Even though I have not spoken to Anne in many years, I feel compelled to say goodbye in some way. In reading a lot of posts from others, there is one word that keeps repeating and that is angel....She truly was an angel. She always saw the best in everyone and she was and has been an example to many. I want to let all of her family know how very sorry I am for such a great loss. Please know that there have been many tears shed and prayers said on everyone's behalf. I pray that you feel the comfort of our Savior who knows and understands your pain. Anne will live on in those three beautiful girls, and someday you will all be reunited. Please accept my sympathy and love.
Love,

Ward, We are so sad with you. We knew Anne as a friend and a teacher long before she disclosed her love of writing. Over time, modest as she was, she was discovered. I remember first going to the Grinch play she wrote for her 8th graders. Writing became a sweet connection we shared. After you graduated from dental school, our paths lead us in different geographical directions. Anne's words kept you all close to us. I (Sarah) always felt close to her, as we wrote often. As before, it will be her words that will remind us of her warmth, light, charity, faith, humor and goodness. Her words always spoke the truth, and they always testified. Her words will build us and keep her ever close. Her kindness will be remembered and will continue to inspire, uplift and strengthen. Bless her for living in such a beautiful way and for writing it down. Anne once told me that she hopes McCady, MaLeah and Maiya will emulate her best qualities and they'll forget her weaknesses. I told her there are few, if any parts of her you could call "weak". I know your girls will be strong because of BOTH of their amazing parents. Blessings to your extended family, too, as you continue filling your home with love and new dreams. We love Anne. We adore your family. We will miss her. Tears and hugs are being shared, as well as prayers offered from this distant land, for you.
